Letter, Staunton, to James Davenport, Lewisburg, Monroe Co. [manuscript] 1801 May 6.

Smith writes regarding the recent proceedings of Staunton contending that the Federalists are about to destroy the harmony of the United States over their disappointment with Thomas Jefferson's policies. He mentions the dancing school at Staunton and asks Davenport for the words to a song. On the verso of the first page of the letter, are the words to an untitled poem or song.
